"My name is Tyson Solomon, I’m 18 years old. When I was little my dad was abusive towards my mom. He left our family when I was around 7 or 8 years old which was tough for my brother, sister, mom, and I. Ever since I was 13 or 14 years old we never had a stable place to stay. It was always 3 months or less where we stayed. My mom is now struggling with drug addictions and can’t work because of blood clots. Before Camp Iron Sights I didn’t have a job or people who really supported me and would help with what I need to succeed. The Camp showed me that I can’t let this bring me down because I will just continue the cycle of bad habits. It showed me that I can be better with effort and no more procrastination. Now I have a Job and doing really good in school, also I am planning to move out to get away from all that stuff and get on my own feet so I can help my family." ~ Tyson, Age 18 Anchorage, Alaska
" I was given the opportunity by Guiding influence to attend Camp Iron Sights. My life before this camp was a bit complicated, I was a major procrastinator only doing the things I wanted to do. I didn't know how to deal with my problems in life. i was lost and with every challenge I had just buried myself deeper and deeper not seeking help. Tackling the world by myself. Camp iron Sights was an opportunity of a lifetime. There hasn't been a day that has gone by that i don't think about Camp iron Sights. They taught me some great life skills like goal setting and the importance of completing those goals. they even taught me how to be a productive member of society. They guided me and the other kids through a lifetime of accomplishments in ten days. It wasn't just a one time encounter, it's a lifetime journey - they continue to help me reach my goals and keep God in my heart. They created a brotherhood between me and the other campers that will never be broken. In the end, I think every person should be given the opportunity to go to Camp Iron Sights. It was an adventure that changed the course of my life forever." ~ Jesse, Age 18 Anchorage, Alaska

“The 15 days that I spent at Rainy Pass Lodge was extremely fulfilling. I enjoyed the trip a lot because it was not only a good time but it helped me overcome challanges that have formed over the last couple times I have been in group projects. I enjoyed every day out there and spending time with Steve II & carly. The camp was well organized and I enjoyed all the fun activities. I hope to return in the future.” ~ Kennedy, Age 16 Glenburn Center, Maine
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to come out to Alaska and take in all these experiences. I had so much fun with my cabin mates and everyone else at Rainy Pass Lodge. This was once in a lifetime. The best experience I had was probably when we went horsback riding. I learned so much about myself and others while here, like dealing with my aspergers and that I am a natural cowboy.” ~ Dylan, Age 14 Manchester, New Hampshire
